About
Minkie Spiro likes to tell big stories (3 Body Problem). She knows how to make people laugh (Dead to Me). She can be masterfully cinematic (Fosse/Verdon). And she can get the very best performances (Barry) — and not just from actors but from the whole crew.
Minkie is an award-winning director whose versatility allows her to cross genre and change tone effortlessly. She’s directed premium pilots (Plot Against America) and critically acclaimed shows (Better Call Saul) with many of her global hits winning multiple awards (Emmys, Golden Globes & Baftas).
Sizzle Reel
Minkie studied Graphic Design at Central St. Martins School of Art in London (First Class Honours). She started out as a photographer where her work was internationally exhibited (NY, London) before gaining her Masters in Film Directing from The Royal College of Art. It was here that her fascination with the human condition really began.
Minkie’s short films and documentaries (Rat Women) garnered multiple awards (San Francisco Film Festival) before she carved out her place in film & television. Her latest directorial project is an adaptation of a Hugo award-winning sci-fi trilogy (3 Body Problem) which is helmed by Game of Thrones creators, David Benioff and Dan Weiss.
